Prologue

This documentation presents the MicaModel ontology that defines a data model for the MICA project. This data model is implemented as an OWL ontology that defines the vocabulary used for describing the MICA resources stored in the database (triplestore) and annotad with the concepts defined by MicaOntology.

FlowSheet (OWL Class) Definition In use

A FlowSheet is an ordered list of MICAKnowledgeElements that can be either a Sheet or a FlowSheet. Typically, a FlowSheet can be seen as a "recipe" for answering a MICAQuestion. It is the ordered assembly of MICAKnowledgeElements involved and for each of them there is an explanation text that defines its role in this assembly.

A MICAKnowledgeElement is a piece of knowledge concerning Mineral Intelligence that has been identified by MICA experts and has been annotated with MICA concepts defined in the MICAOntology. The experts has also to give it a title and a small summary.

MICAResource (OWL Class) Definition In use

A MICAResource is any resource defined in MICA database (triplestore) which is annotated with MICA concepts (defined in MicaOntology). Resources can be sheets, questions, links to extrenal resources... A resource can be linked to other resources using the relatedTo property.

MICASheet (OWL Class) Definition In use

A MICASheet is an internal resource that has been produced by MICA experts (in docx format) and that is stored in the MICA database (in docx (for future modifications) and pdf (for end users) file formats). Its publicURI gives access to public representation of this resources (e.g. the pdf file). The privateURI gives access to a private representation of it (e. g. the .docx file) wich can then be edited by the MICA experts.

Sheet (OWL Class) Definition In use

A Sheet is an elementary piece of knowledge (MICAKnowledgeElement). This knowledge is accessible through an URI (publicURI). This URI can identifiy either a resource already available on the web (for example a legislation from EURLEX) or a new resource that MICA experts have produced. The public URI allows to access to a representation of the resource.

relatedTo (Property) object property symmetric property Definition

relates a MICAKnowledgeElement to another one. This property is symetric but not transitive. This relation is quite general and has no speciific semantics. But if a MICAQuestion is related tu a MICAKnowledgeElement, the relationship can be interpreted as meaning that the KnowledgeElement answers the question. (note: if we need more semantics we can consider to specialize this property)
